Package: cups
Version: 1.3.8-1+lenny8
Severity: important
After upgrading to lenny the printer queues affecting the printer parameter
such as InputSlot, Toner Density desregard these settings when printing
from windows (especially XP) through samba. The situation is independent
either from the printer driver (CUPS6 or that of the printer) or the setup
method of the driver (downloaded through samba or locally).
The settings for duplex printing do not work either, though the setting the
number of pages to print on a sheet does.
The workaround to use pstops from etch, like
/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstops.etch, seems to help on this problem after
the /etc/cups/mime.convs contains the modified line, as well:
application/postscript application/vnd.cups-postscript 66 pstops.etch

Dear Debian User,
This bug report was submitted against a version of CUPS that is no
longer supported in Debian. Use of our limited, volunteer supported
resources is best served by not keeping around old, hardware-specific
and inactive bugs for longer than desirable, so the report is now being
closed.
You may, of course, wish to review the reported problem. It would be
appreciated if any future investigation could be conducted using the
testing or unstable distributions. If considered necessary, a new bug
report, possibly referencing this one, would be submitted. Please note
there are now separate cups and cups-filters packages.
Thank you for your report.
Regards,
Brian.
