Package: cups
Version: 1.3.8-1lenny1
Severity: important
cups is not paying attention to the duplex lines inside a DSC standard
postscript file like those produced by Macs and Windows PCs. Instead cups
resets the duplex to whatever is the default for the print queue. This used
to work in etch. I have verified it with several types of printers
- HP LJ4650 and Ricoh CL4000DN. From looking at the data being sent to the
printer, it is replacing the line in the postscript file:
<</Duplex true /Tumble false>> setpagedevice
with:
<</Duplex false>>setpagedevice
Please restore the behavior in etch.

Dear Debian User,
This bug report was submitted against a version of CUPS that is no
longer supported in Debian. Use of our limited, volunteer supported
resources is best served by not keeping around old, hardware-specific
and inactive bugs for longer than desirable, so the report is now being
closed.
You may, of course, wish to review the reported problem. It would be
appreciated if any future investigation could be conducted using the
testing or unstable distributions. If considered necessary, this report
could be re-opened or a new bug report, possibly referencing this one,
submitted. Please note there are now separate cups and cups-filters
packages.
Thank you for your report.
Regards,
Brian.
