It's already a known fact that compositing is required for
transparency in conky, and since AFAIK nothing related to transparency
was changed in between conky 1.8.1 -> 1.9.0, this is more of a
configuration issue than an actual bug in conky. Hence, closing this
bug report. Regardless, I'm glad to know that you've got conky the way
you want it on Xfce!
