Package: bind9
Version: 1:9.2.2-2
Severity: important
Sometimes bind9 stops listening on an interface. The only way to recover
from this is by restarting it. It seems to happen when many queries are
sent in a short time, I can easily reproduce this behaviour by starting
galeon and selecting "open folder in tabs" (which opens all the links in
a folder, for example 20 or more, at the same time in different tabs).
Only the interface which receives these queries stops responding, other
interfaces keep working. If I use netstat I see:
# netstat -l -p -n
Active Internet connections (only servers)
Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State

tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:953 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN

udp6 0 0 :::25181 :::*

It's not IPv6 specific by the way, it happens on IPv4 interfaces as
well. Anyway, the Recv-Q will just increase and increase... If you need
more information, please ask.

Since this bug references a BIND 9 version that is even older than
oldstable (lenny) I'm closing it.
Please reopen if reproducible in newer versions.
