Subject: util-linux: support live adding of partitions in fdisk
Package: util-linux
Version: 2.12-10
Severity: wishlist
-- System Information:
Debian Release: 3.1
APT prefers testing
APT policy: (500, 'testing')
Architecture: i386 (i686)
Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-1-k7
Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US
Versions of packages util-linux depends on:
ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-16 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an
ii libncurses5 5.4-4 Shared libraries for terminal hand
ii slang1a-utf8 1.4.9dbs-8 The S-Lang programming library wit
ii zlib1g 1:1.2.1.1-7 compression library - runtime
-- no debconf information
Use the live partition handling kernel features, so
one can create a new partition with (c|s|)fdisk and
start using it, without a reboot ( or unmounting used
partitions, which is not always possible ).
( as is done wit addpart, partx utils from util-linux )
