Package: winbind
Version: 3.0.4-5
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
After upgrading to winbind 3.0.4-5 I can no longer authenticate against
my domain.
Here is the snippet from /var/log/auth.log
Jul 20 12:50:35 localhost gdm[14361]: Couldn't authenticate user
Jul 20 12:50:40 localhost pam_winbind[14361]: request failed: No logon servers,
PAM error was 4, NT error was NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS
Jul 20 12:50:40 localhost pam_winbind[14361]: internal module error (retval =
4, user = `pma'
Jul 20 12:50:40 localhost gdm[14361]: (pam_unix) check pass; user unknown
Jul 20 12:50:40 localhost gdm[14361]: (pam_unix) authentication failure;
logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=hilbert.missioncriticalit.com:0 ruser=
rhost=hilbert.missioncriticalit.com
Here is the output of wbinfo
klein:~# wbinfo -u
Error looking up domain users
A downgrade of just winbind to 3.0.2a allows me to login again and wbinfo
reports the members of my domain, even though the rest of the samba toolchain
remains at 3.0.4-5
