Package: kernel-package
Version: 9.008.1
Severity: normal
If no initrd creation tool is installed, make-kpkg fails with a
not-so-clear error message if the --initrd has been used.
Perhaphs the kernel-package package should at least Suggest one of those
tools (I've installed yaird and everything worked).

Hi,
,----[ warning message ]
| You are attempting to install an initrd kernel image (version
| $version) but you do not seem to have a $ramdisk
| command. This will break the installation, unless initrd-tools are
| also being installed right now.
`----
I fail to see how this is obscure. And, futhermore, it is not
the task of kernel-package to keep track of which init ram/root disk
tols and versions are valid for which kernel version and
architecture; things change too fast.
