Package: samba
Version: 3.0.4-5
Severity: important

Hi,

I upgraded to 3.0.4-5 yesterday, and now printing to any of my printer
services doesn't work. None of my printers are actual printers per se,
they run some custom scripts when something is printed to them (e.g. I
have a printer service for sending faxes, and one for creating PDFs).

Anyway, I don't even get a file in the directory I've specified for
temporary files to go, and I do get

[2004/07/21 14:56:32, 0] printing/print_cups.c:cups_printer_fn(108)
Unable to connect to CUPS server localhost - Connection refused

In /var/log/samba/log.smbd

Needless to say, I'm not running CUPS, I don't have a printing directive
in my smb.conf at all.

I'm not really sure what else to debug at this point, but if you'd like
me to do anything else to get to the bottom of it, let me know.

regards

Andrew

Actually, it defaults to bsd *now* because of the cups.patch patch in the
Debian Samba tree. So, at least it didn't *always* do this. :)

Anyway, the real reason this bug report was still open was that a follow-up
message showed testprns was broken. But, testprns has now been *removed*,
so the bug no longer applies anyway... Closing. :)
