Package: nvidia-glx
Version: 1.0.6111-1
Severity: important

When I upgraded to nvidia-glx v 1.0.6111 from 1.0.5336-6, I encountered
the following problems. Initially, X completely failed to start, but
after a reboot, that was fixed. I used to be able to run 1400x1050 on my
Toshiba laptop. I had the following setting in the Device section of
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4:
Option "IgnoreEDID" "true"
That's what allowed the higher resolution 1400x1050 rather than then
1280x1024 allowed by the EDID reports from the monitor.

With the 1.0.6111 version, the screen was all garbled up and unusable.
When I commented out the above IgnoreEDID line, I got X to work, but the
resolution I got was only 1280x1024.

When I downgrade to 1.0.5336 everything is fine.

Gopal.
