Package: gnome-mount
Version: 0.7-2
I just want to confirm this bug.
I have a password with a `\' character in it (backslash).
When typing this password inside the gnome-mount dialog when connecting
my USB disk, decryption and mounting fails.
This also occurs when invoking gnome-mount with the -t switch for text
entry, and entering my password via CLI.
It seems that using a double backslash ( `\\' ), instead of using just a
single backslash in the password, allows the drive to be decrypted
successfully, and the corrosponding luks_ entry is added to
/dev/mapper/luks_*.
It seems to be an escaping issue.
I have found this bug at one other place.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-mount/+bug/111059
It was very annoying trying to figure out why it wouldn't accept my
password.
Kind Regards,
Mike
