Package: pdfshuffler
Version: 0.5-1
Severity: wishlist
I am trying to work with a 60-page document generated with
gscan2pdf. The document is 30Mb in size, and pdfshuffler becomes
unusable when opening it. E.g. between right-click and display of
the menu, it's about 12 seconds. If I overlay another window and
then bring pdfshuffler back into the foreground, it takes several
seconds to redraw. And I have not been able to actually move a page
yet.
Granted, this is not a fast machine (X40), but pdfshuffler
could/should really work with thumbnails, rather than (what seems to
be) downscaling the full pages into the UI.

I just tried this with a 700-page document (62 MB) and everything worked
perfectly. Importing took ~30 seconds and during that time, the UI was
indeed unresponsive (although the progress bar was updated roughly every
5 seconds), but after that editing the document (moving/deleting pages)
worked flawlessly.

I think it does work with thumbnails nowadays since zooming in on the
pages does actually result in blurry pictures.
I'm therefore closing this bug now, please feel free to reopen if
necessary.
