Package: netdisco-common
Version: 1.0-1
Severity: important

This is a clean, new, debian install.

I have used netdisco before, on other debian boxes. Both from an
upstream tarball, and Oliver's packages.

I have installed all three netdisco packages, but not yet started configuring
netdisco-frontend.

Discovery of the first device fails:

The "funny" observations are:

1. cacti on this server runs perfectly against this (and other) devices
2. If I run tcpdump, I cannot see a SNMP packet going out.

It is #2 above that makes me feel that this is not a trivial mistake from my
side.

No SELinux, no firewall.
