Package: samba-common
Version: 2:3.6.0~pre3-1
Severity: wishlist
This is a rough idea that popped up in post discussions during
Jeremy's talk at Samba XP: 3.6.0 will not ship with SMB2 activated by
default (mostly "because distros would kill us" as Jeremy said).
We could however ask through debconf whether people want to activate
it (medium priority, default to "no"). That could make a sensible
improvement visible to Those Who Care.

Closing this, since wheezy shipped with a version of Samba that had
SMB2 enabled by default, and the world didn't end.
There is no point in adding a message in NEWS.Debian about SMB2 for
jessie.
