Package: grep
Version: 2.5.1.ds1-5
Severity: important
take the files from
http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/latest/build/Files/2.0/
concatenate them for a length of about 100MB, then run grep basctl <file>.
On the same machine,
- 32bit chroot: 0.15s
- native: 6.55s
Using -O3 on amd64 reduces the runtime of grep to the same timings as
for the i386 version.
I didn't check on the other 64bit architectures
