Package: mount
Version: 2.17.2-2
Severity: normal

lower Force the short name to lower case upon display; store a
long name when the short name is not all upper case. This
                     mode is the default.

With my kernel, I'm seeing it default to shortname=mixed instead.

After mounting a new vfat filesystem, I see:

/dev/loop0 /mnt vfat
rw,relatime,fmask=0022,dmask=0022,codepage=cp437,iocharset=utf8,shortname=mixed,errors=remount-ro
