Package: libfreetype6
Version: 2.3.5-1+b1
Severity: normal
Dear all,
I am not sureif this a bug of libfreetype, please reassign if you think
it isn't.
There is a problem with some fonts which include in the font normal
lower case letters and small caps variants. One example is the TeX Gyre
Cursor font available at http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/tex-gyre/
PFB: http://www.ctan.org/get/fonts/tex-gyre/fonts/type1/public/tex-gyre/qcrr.pfb
AFM: http://www.ctan.org/get/fonts/tex-gyre/fonts/afm/public/tex-gyre/qcrr.afm
The problem is that the lowercase "i" is shown as a small caps "I".
My guess is that libfreetype is confused due to the glyph names in the
afm file:
the normal lowercase i:
C 105 ; WX 600 ; N i ; B 92 0 508 610 ;
the smallcaps i:
C -1 ; WX 600 ; N i.sc ; B 130 0 471 417 ;
All the best
Norbert

As I cannot reproduce it anymore, I am closing this bug.
Way to reproduce would be opening a gedit window, selecting
the TeX Gyre Cursor fonts, and see if "i" is displayed
correctly.
When it was, and whether it was fontconfg, freetype, or the tex-gyre
package that fixed that, I have no idea.
