Package: mount
Version: 2.12-7
Severity: normal
I installed this system using the Debian installer, it's running sarge.
The system has /boot on /dev/hda1 and / on /dev/hda5. I used e2label to
set the label for /dev/hda1 to "Boot", and changed fstab to mount by
label. This doesn't work, if I run "mount /boot" I get back "mount: no
such partition found". And if I run "mount -L Boot /boot", I get a
sefmentation fault.
The kernel version if 2.4.26-1-686 from the stock debian kernel package.
Of course this kernel has devfs built in, but not enabled. I see mount doing
fun stuff with /proc/partitions and the nonexistant devices listed therein.
The last thing before the degfault is it closes fd 3 (/proc/partitions),
munmaps something, and tries to open /proc/lvm/VGs, which does not exist.
I don't have any lvm modules loaded.
Perhaps this bug is related to #154613, but it seems sufficiently different
to warrent its own bug report.

In the many years since this bug was filed, devfs has gone the way of
