Package: rxvt-unicode-256color
Version: 9.19-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
   upgrading rxvt-unicode-256color from version 9.18-3 to 9.19-1
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

Launch urxvt from command line or any other way:
Every instance of urxvt now spawns 2 processes in stead of one.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

urxvt window shows up as normal, but 'ps' or 'pstree' command shows 2
processes in stead of one, as was the case for version 9.18-3

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

     One process per urxvt instance

Hi Jean-Pierre,

This is to be expected, as urxvt is now setgid utmp. In upstream's
words:

if urxvt is setgid utmp (as it is now in debian) it forks an helper
process to manage the pty/utmp stuff while the main process drops
    priviledges

I'm thus closing this bug report. Thanks for your contribution to
Debian!

Best wishes,
Ryan
