other tools) it fails to print a localized strerror() in the ru_RU.UTF-8

It should read "В соединении отказано", as far as I know. It
prints "errno=Connection refused" in the C locale.

Thanks again for reporting it. Fixed by 9c0495d2 (gettext.c: detect
the vsnprintf bug at runtime, 2013-12-01), as long as glibc 2.17 or
newer is in use (thanks, Duy!).
