The problem occurred only on kFreeBSD and Hurd but I could not reproduce it locally on kfreebsd-amd64 with UFS or ZFS filesystems, or even inside a BSD jail. The testcase is pretty simply so this is an interesting bug. It would be really good to see output from tests/testsuite.log echoed into the build log, to see exactly which part is failing. I wasn't using sbuild; maybe that, or its bind mounting, has something to do with it. https://buildd.debian.org/status/logs.php?pkg=tar&ver=1.27-3&suite=sid Thanks. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.1 APT prefers proposed-updates APT policy: (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: kfreebsd-amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: kFreeBSD 9.0-2-amd64-xenhvm Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash
