Hi,
First of all, despite the recent discussion about init in Debian, I
don't want to open a flame war, I just want to ask a question.
Does installing sysvinit make monit more useful?
The "issue" with recommends is that it will install sysvinit, with the
default apt settings. I know this can't do any harm. Nevertheless, I
appreciate when there is a real reason to do it :)
Currently, I'm using monit along with systemd for its web server
feature, that allows to simply start and stop a service with a web
browser. And I personally don't see any features that could be more
useful with sysvinit.
Please slap me if I am a fool for asking that!

monit is not about its web gui. It is a system for proactive
monitoring, and these features of monit can conflict with
systemd's configuration (e.g. Restart=on-failure).
