Package: gnucash
Version: 1:2.6.1-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

Default GnuCash configuration using Debian Jessie (xml data file).
Changing the default value of "Retain log files" to "Never". A new log file is
created every time the application is launched even though it never removes the
previous one.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

I logged out the session. Nothing changed, then I shutdown the computer
expecting a reload of the config files. After logging in the same behavior was
noticed. The application is continuously adding stuff to the system.

I browsed upstream GnuCash FAQ [1] and mailing list. According the
former source, this behavior is a bug. Information from the mailing list
suggest that this is an ancient and long standing bug [2, 3].

Thank you for your attention. Let me know if there is anything else I
can do.

 robert

Thanks for your feedback. I also think that this is acceptable behavior,
hence I'm closing this bug.
