I launched "rhythmbox --gst-debug-level=2" and started the
preference-window. (Edit -> Preferences)
The terminal said:

When was redoing this (Edit -> Preferences) with the same rhythmbox (I
didn't launch a new one) no more output appeared.
I don't know whether this is important for this bug report but I have
lame installed on my system:
