Severity: normal

pulseaudio starts muted and at 0 volume after login to gnome after each boot.
If I just logout and back in, it seems to
remember the volume setting. The volume settings used to work correctly a
month or so ago. I have squeeze on 4 different
computers and the problem is happening on all of them. It looks like the bug
is also
on Ubuntu.

Now the pulseaudio startup script waits until the session exits and
then quits. This avoids the problem of storing volumes after
alsa-utils muted the device.
