Hello,

I never replied to that bug report because I did not know what to do
about it. Right now, I tried to fix it by making the error message
more informative, and failed again because the error message
disappeared since 2006 when you reported it...

I checked a bit, and it seems to me that all faulty execution paths
lead to informative error messages. So I'm closing the bug. Sorry for
being such a bad maintainer of this piece of software.

If you encounter another message that should be improved, please
report another bug with the message that you now get. I'll try to be
more responsive this time.

Sorry again, Mt.

has to teach, advise students, serve on committees, referee papers,
write letters of recommendation, interview prospective faculty. Well,
I take long showers. -- Anon Professor, reported by Susan Landau
