Package: duplicity
Version: 0.6.24-1
the parameter is there for a reason, but patched away during debian packaging,
hence always resulting in an extra clean run.
extra clean does remove signatures from each backup chain not being the latest
one. this makes it impossible to list files for these chains! to make sure
users really want to do that this parameter was introduced analogue to the
--force parameter.
Alexander, please refrain from patching it away.

this is not correct. the only thing the debian patch 03-extraclean does
is add an entry to the manpage telling you about extraclean, as per
#724594:
+
+.B Caution:
+Without signature files those old backup chains are unrestorable. Do not
+use --extra-clean unless you know what you're doing.

it isn't "patched away" - it's not touched at all.
