I close it, because I just don't want another fight. But record my opinion that this is wrong-doing by Debian or dpkg, to call something "..foobar quilt .." and then not supporting quilt. Next time I create a shell script called "latex" which does nothing else but "exit 0". And put in the man page: "Sorry, not all the features of latex are supported ..." Hmmmm, not good.
