In here:

> .2Z` ]X[. xY| ]oZ( Linux Version 2.4.21-pre4
> .2#; )3k; _s!~ jXf` Compiled #1 Mon Feb 24 05:29:02 GMT 2003

or here:

> .2Z` ]X[. xY| ]oZ( Linux Version 2.4.20
> .2#; )3k; _s!~ jXf` Compiled #1 SMP Fri Nov 29 02:15:39 MST 2002

it seems like there's distracting and uninformative information. I'd
say that the "Compiled #1 SMP Fri Nov 29 02:15:39 MST 2002" could be
stripped down to its essentials; the "SMP" seems like it belongs after
the linux version (in parens) on the prev line; the "#1" could go; the
day of the week could go; the time should be converted and displayed
in the local timezone; and the seconds field doesn't seem critical.

(Really, when you sit down at a machine it is not clear to me that the
time of kernel compilation is of particular interest. Maybe something
more informative, like last console user id & logout time, or load
factor, might be more fun. But I digress.)

I believe this does not occur anymore in version 5.10.
