Package: sane-utils
Version: 1.0.22-7.4
Severity: normal
File: /usr/bin/scanimage

Hi,

In Debian Wheezy the Avision scanner does not work anymore.

The scanner is detected fine:
jlinkels@donald-pc:/tmp$ scanimage -L
libv4lconvert: warning more framesizes then I can handle!
libv4lconvert: warning more framesizes then I can handle!
device `v4l:/dev/video0' is a Noname UVC Camera (046d:081b) virtual device
device `genesys:libusb:001:003' is a Canon LiDE 210 flatbed scanner
device `avision:libusb:001:011' is a Avision AV220 sheetfed scanner

However, every command involving this scanner produces an error message

jlinkels@donald-pc:/tmp$ scanimage --help -d avision
Usage: scanimage [OPTION]...

Start image acquisition on a scanner device and write image data to
standard output.

Parameters are separated by a blank from single-character options (e.g.
-d epson) and by a "=" from multi-character options (e.g. --device-name=epson).
-d, --device-name=DEVICE use a given scanner device (e.g. hp:/dev/scanner)
++++ lines removed from help message ++++
-V, --version print version information
scanimage: open of device avision failed: Invalid argument
Type ``scanimage --help -d DEVICE'' to get list of all options for DEVICE.

libv4lconvert: warning more framesizes then I can handle!
libv4lconvert: warning more framesizes then I can handle!
List of available devices:
    v4l:/dev/video0 genesys:libusb:001:003 avision:libusb:001:011

All other commands involving this device produce the error messaga "Invalid argument"

This scanner worked perfectly in Debian Squeeze.
It occured after upgrading the sane packages from Squeeze -> Wheezy.

It also occurs on a new, fresh installation of Wheezy.
This error report is from a Wheezy machine.

Other scanners (plustek, genesys) connected to either system function normally.

Kind regards
jlinkels
