TECkit is used to create mappings for the conversion of Unicode character sets.
They could be
converted on the command line but mostly they are used within XeTeX (both
developed side by
side) for typesetting certain Unicode sets through their equivalents in
transliteration. I think
it would be great if that would be available throught the repos.
