Hi,
I just reported an auctex bug and was motivated to investigate the cause
myself. However I didn't find a VCS (SVN, Git, Bzr, ...) for the auctex
packaging and thus I gave up.
You'd do me (and surely other users) a favour, if you could use a VCS for the
packaging of auctex and use the VCS-* debian/control fields. I personally very
strongly recommend Git.
