Package: emacs23-common
Version: 23.1+1-5
Severity: normal
When viewing the attached file "log.gz" in compilation-mode, I get the
following message:
======================================================================
Fontifying log... (regexps................................................)
font-lock-fontify-keywords-region: Stack overflow in regexp matcher
======================================================================
When compiling directly inside emacs, part of one line is cut out and stays at
the end of the buffer, while new compiler output is inserted in front of it,
see attached file "log.direct.gz".
Steps to reproduce:
1. Save attached file "log.gz" somewhere and decompress it.
2. Open it with emacs.
3. M-x compilation-mode
4. Observe the message "Stack overflow in regexp matcher" in the echo area
(The message will also appear in the buffer *Messages*)
It probably has something to do with the length of the lines of the compiler
output exceeding 64KiByte.
Thanks,
Jö.
