The power just went out, while I was talking on gaim MSN, AIM, and
IRC. That took out my existing connections, since I have a linksys
router for my cable modem. When the power came back, about 30 seconds
later, I went to tools / accounts, and disconnected the 3 accts and
then attempted to reconnect. None of the 3 appear to have done
anything (with the possible exception of IRC, which may have succeeded
at least in DNS lookup).
Shortly, the gaim Accounts window went unresponsive, not redrawing
itself after being shaded and unshaded. I couldn't find a core file,
though gaim is aliased as:
ulimit -c unlimited; gaim -d >~/.gaim/out 2>~/.gaim/err
I have saved the stdout and stderr logfiles, though I can't see that
there's anything relevant, except for the tail of stderr:
The application 'gaim' lost its connection to the display :0.0; most
likely the X server was shut down or you killed/destroyed the
application.
But, the X server is running fine (x.org, btw).
stdout log doesn't seem to have anything recent (I haven't talked to
Tiffany in the last week), and the next most recent entry in stderr is
dns[3323]: nobody needs me... =(
But current PID is 17589, so that seems to be old. Besides those
messages, stderr also has some of
dns[15721] Error: getaddrinfo returned -3
and, before that, a huge line full of nulls, preceeded by 2 more
instances of "nobody needs me".
Full logs available by request.

Justin

I'm closing my bug as the gaim2 release is apparently imminent and its
not reproducible.
