irssi has some nice features for dealing with multiple IRC networks, like
/connect -IRCNET tagname
/join -tagname #channel
which allow the user to think in terms of IRC networks, rather than
individual servers. Unfortunately, the /whois command still requires an
explicit server name. It would be nice if it could support tags as well,
e.g.
/whois -OPN fnord
would do a
/whois [the server I'm currently CONNECTed to that has the OPN tag]
fnord
