Package: libmagickcore-6.q16-dev
Version: 8:6.8.9.9-3
Severity: minor
Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
I ran
opam install imagemagick
to install the OCaml library for imagemagick. It failed to build.
I looked at the source http://www.linux-
nantes.org/~fmonnier/OCaml/ImageMagick/downloads/OCaml-ImageMagick-0.34.tgz and
found the makefile uses
# path to the MagickCore-config utility
MAGICK_INSTALLED_BIN := $(shell which MagickCore-config)
which fails because MagickCore-config is not in my path.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I found MagickCore-config in /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/ImageMagick-6.8.9/bin-Q16
and added that to my path.
* What was the outcome of this action?
`opam install imagemagick` succeeded after I added above to my path.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected `opam install imagemagick` to succeed without tinkering.
Note https://packages.debian.org/search?suite=jessie&searchon=contents&keywords
=magickcore-config shows MagickCore-config is in /usr/bin for [ia64, sparc,
s390] so presumably this bug would not occur on those architectures.
