Package: flashplugin-nonfree
Version: 1:3.6.1
Severity: minor

New Adobe Flash Player versions get released often and security
vulnerabilities are published for previous ones.

If the package is not reconfigured or a new version is installed, the plugin
version stays the same for a long time and the user gets warnings about it
being vulnerable (at least in Iceweasel).

Can the package version be updated when a new upstream version is released so
upgrading the system will also fetch it? Or any other solution that achieves
this result :-)

The best solution would be to have the Flash Player updates triggered by
updated flashplugin-nonfree packages released via security.debian.org. But
that's unfortunately a no-go, see:

That exists:
update-flashplugin-nonfree --status
update-flashplugin-nonfree --install
