When clicking on a slider to change the size the program segfaults:
(xscanimage:4337): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_notify: assertion
`G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
[1] Segmentation fault xscanimage
Additionally using the niash frontend (at least) it is nearly impossible to
edit the gamma curve because the old lines don't disappear as shown in the
attached picture.
As I remember correctly it worked in lenny.

I found no error while I testing this bug with sane-frontends version
1.0.14-10.
