Package: python-gamera
Version: 3.4.1+svn1423-4

The attached TIFF is a JPEG-compressed picture of a snake. But if you open this image in gamera_gui, it shows only colorful vertical stripes.

It turns out that this image is also problematic with other applications:
ImageMagick, e.g.,
messes up the colors and changes brown into green on my computer (Ubuntu 12.04).

Enabling JPEG compression support in TIFF images seems to require some tricks
in libtiff,
and I am not sure whether this is worth the trouble. At least the TIFF reading
routine now
detects an error when reading JPEG compressed TIFFs, so that incorrectly read
data no longer
goes unnoticed.

I hope this solves the problem,

Christoph
