Package: jadetex
Version: 3.13-6
Severity: important

Jadetex breaks completely any upgrades from pre 3.0 tetex to 3.0 tetex.
Purging it and reinstalling it later after tetex was upgraded works.

That's strange, it usually displays

        warn " failed."
warn "ERROR: JadeTeX/PDFJadeTeX memory dump creation failed"
warn " This package could not be installed."
warn " Please report this bug; include the file $MYTMPFILE"
warn " in the bug report."
        exit 1

No idea; you should at least have sent the output of
apt-get/dpkg/aptitude/whatever.=20

There have been issues with tetex-bin and jadetex when you reported it
which are now fixed; I don't know why nobody followed up to your report.
But I assume that this was the same, and close it.
