Package: emacs21
Version: 21.3+1-7
Severity: normal
File: /usr/bin/emacs21-x
When emacs is displaying frames on two displays on two different
machines (using M-x make-frame-on-display) and one of the displays
becomes unavailable, either through an X server going down or a
network resource becoming unavailable, the entire emacs process may
quit.
This is happens more reliably when the first X server to which emacs
has attached quits. (The desired behavior should probably be to
migrate to the remaining X server.) But I have also lost emacs
processes when the remote machine becomes unavailable.
This is serious (because it causes crashes), but I have filed it as
normal because the cause is sufficiently rare for me and because I
suspect very few people use the feature.

This bug has been reported against an ancient version of emacs (emacs21,
emacs22) that is no longer supported. It is assumed to be fixed (or no
longer relevant) in newer releases and therefore I'm closing this report
now. If the problem is still reproducible in the current version
(emacs24), feel free to provide more information and reopen this bug report.
Andreas
