Package: emacs22
Version: 22.1+1-2.1+lenny1
Severity: normal

Menu popups are sometimes misplaced when using Xinerama with Emacs on
the second display. They do not show up right under the menu bar item,
but further to the left.

I have a dual-head setup with Xinerama, a 1024x768 laptop panel to the
left and a 1280x1024 external monitor to the right. When I log in to
X, it gives me a cloned display. I start Emacs and then use xrandr to
position the external monitor:

~$ xrandr --output VGA-0 --right-of LVDS

After that apparently the running Emacs still things the desktop is
1280x1024, and refuses to place popups further to the right
(screenshots will be attached shortly).

This happens only if I start Emacs and then change the Xinerama layout
from cloned to a multi-screen desktop. If I start Emacs after making
the layout change, menus work correctly.

This bug has been reported against an ancient version of emacs (emacs21,
emacs22) that is no longer supported. It is assumed to be fixed (or no
longer relevant) in newer releases and therefore I'm closing this report
now. If the problem is still reproducible in the current version
(emacs24), feel free to provide more information and reopen this bug report.

Andreas
