The entry in the main info page (/usr/share/info/dir) for "Date input
formats" looks roughly like

* Date input formats: (COREUTILS)DATE INPUT FORMATS. 

The letters I have shown capitalised are actually just supersized. The upper
and lower cases are preserved. /usr/share/info/dir looks normal. The
original info files look Ok too. Hmm. Strange...

I don't see this problem in the current (5.93-5) info page.  If you can
