Hi. The algorithm for the 'last <month>' choses the wrong date:
$ date
Fri Nov 12 23:23:43 GMT 2004
$ date -d 'last june'
Sun May 30 00:00:00 BST 2004
^^^^^^
It's not an off-by-one-second bug: May had 31 days this year. 'last
july' is even better:
Tue Jun 29 00:00:00 BST 2004
The 'last <day>' is correct:
$ date -d 'last friday'
Fri Nov 5 00:00:00 GMT 2004
Following its logic, 'last <month>' should display the date of the first
moment of the month in question:
$ date -d 'last june'
Sun Jun 01 00:00:00 BST 2004
^^^^^^
Cheers,
Jan.
