Package: Postfix
Version: 2.1.5-9

Postfix install creates a highly cut-down set of configuration options
in /etc/postfix.
main.cf is highly incomplete compared to the upstream version. Example:
only to make it delivering to Maildir/, an option has to be added;
instead of the option prevailing - commented - in main.cf.
All in all, main.cf has been cut down; many other files are simply
missing: I need transport maps; e.g. Debian doesn't install neither.
Also dpkg-reconfigure postfix does not offer the completion of the
install. (Here copying a complete set of complete files to /etc/postfix
would be the least to be expected.)

See /usr/share/postfix/main.cf.dist. Having the entire file is
confusing to many, so the distributed main.cf has only the things that
are actually changed from the upstream defaults.

See also /usr/share/doc/postfix-doc/examples in the postfix-doc package.
