Package: postgresql-8.1
Version: 8.1.1-2
Severity: critical
Justification: causes serious data loss

The 8.1.1 version of PostgreSQL contains a critical error in ReadBuffer:

"that can cause data loss due to overwriting recently-added
pages. This applies to the 8.1 and 8.0 branches on all
        platforms."

This is fixed in the minor version 8.1.2 released today.

Other bugs fixed in this release are summarized here:

        http://www.postgresql.org/about/news.456

(This is my first bug report _ever_ so please go easy if I did this wrong...)
