Subject: config conflict between php3-pgsql and the debian way...
Content-Type: multipart/mixed;

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Package: php3-pgsql
version: 3.0.5-3
1. The install process should modify /etc/php3/apache/php3.ini so that
the new module is loaded automatically, then apache should restart....
2. After installing, instructions should be issued so that the
installer knows to run createuser in order to to add the user-name that
apache will be executing commands as.
3. Here is the conflict with the Debian way, createuser tosses back the
following:
$createuser www-data
createuser: invalid characters in username 'www-data'
the only work around I could figure out was to make apache run as a
different user.
(I chose 'www') To use this work around, a user www must be created,
the ownership of /var/www modified, and httpd.conf must also be
modified.
I am using Debian 2.1, Linux kernel version 2.0.36

Dear reporter,
php3 has been removed from Debian unstable/testing, because it's superseded
by php4 and php5. Please see #330656 for more information.
This bug does not apply to php4 or php5, so I'm closing it now.
Thank you for your report,
