--- Begin Message ---Package: xinetd Version: 1:2.3.14-5 Severity: normal Having something like : defaults { bind = 157.159.110.88 } works whereas : defaults { bind=157.159.110.88 } won't, in /etc/xinetd.conf That's a bit stupid as it gets reposted in /var/log/syslog, but xinetd starts anyway. So either it's a mistake, and IMHO xinetd shouldn't start with a buggy conf file, or otherwise, a less strict syntax is supported, which leads to easier configuration... Hope this helps, Best regards. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-vserver-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages xinetd depends on: ii libc6 2.7-5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libwrap0 7.6.dbs-14 Wietse Venema's TCP wrappers libra ii netbase 4.30 Basic TCP/IP networking system Versions of packages xinetd recommends: ii logrotate 3.7.1-3 Log rotation utility ii sysklogd [system-log-daemon] 1.5-1 System Logging Daemon
