Starting with Linux 4.4, the microcode module is now built into the kernel, so
the amd64-microcode-blacklist.conf file is now obsolete:

As a consequence, I am receiving this message on boot that did not occur with
4.3.x and earlier kernels
modprobe: module microcode not found in modules.dep
Other than the warning message, I haven't had any failed boots or noticed any
change in functionality due to this issue (on AMD Phenom II X3 720).
If you still need to prevent the microcode loader from running after boot, I
guess you will have to find another way.
Please remove/edit the amd64-microcode-blacklist.conf file so it does not
produce the warning message at boot.

on how to disable early updates using the dis_ucode_ldr kernel boot
