Comments/Problems:

* I entered fixed IP configuration for my local network and IPs for
name servers during installation but IP addresses of nameservers were
not written into /etc/resolv.conf afterwards. I think this is rather
confusing for somebody who is not familiar with networking.

* I am accustomed to LILO and not to GRUB and when GRUB configuration
started I couldn't see how to select LILO (I would prefer if I could
choose explicitly and not to return from GRUB back to to the main
  installation menu)

* after successful download of Debian packages when configuring
pcmcia-cs package I used the option 'ask' and then the installation
halted. I had to switch the NB off and after restart and new download
of packages the installation finished without a problem.

I used the same installation CD for a Fujitsu Notebook without any problems

* I failed to install the system with kernel 2.6 on my NB

I believe this bug was fixed in pcmcia-cs 3.2.5-11. It never stops
cardmgr on upgrades anymore, at least not by default.
