Package: tailor
Version: 0.9.27-1
Severity: important

The tailor documentation claims to support git as a target repo
format but it is currently broken as per
http://progetti.arstecnica.it/tailor/ticket/78 .

I am attemting to run git with this configuration:

"""
[DEFAULT]
verbose = True
debug = True

[hg:target]
subdir = hg

[tokyo-debian]
root-directory = ~/tailor/tokyo-debian
target = hg:target
source = git:tokyo-debian
state-file = ~/tailor/tokyo-debian.state

[git:tokyo-debian]
repository = /tmp/monthly-report
subdir = git
"""
Where /tmp/monthly-report was created by

git clone git://git.debian.org/git/tokyodebian/monthly-report.git
/tmp/monthly-report

First, it seems I have to manually create the
~/tailor/tokyo-debian/git directory to get the process
started. That's a pretty trivial bug to fix. But after that, it
successfully clones the repo and then fails getting the
revision list. If you remove the GIT_DIR environment setting in
vcpx/repository/git/__init__.py , it succesfully gets the
revision list and appears to perform the conversion
succesfully. More work is needed on this, but it's a start.

Thanks,
David
